#52 Rick Sanchez of San Vicente Racing made the statement of “owning” his hometown clear taking the overall win with an impressive 40-minute lead over the second place in the open category #17 Andy Ramirez after completing the 4 laps on the 40-mile racecourse starting and finishing 50 miles south of Ensenada in the town of San Vicente.
In Class 10, #1097 Jorge Sampietro, who we did a feature a while back, made the second best time of the day with a time of 3:24:53 taking the win in his class, only two minutes behind #1070 Faisal Dias was able to climb on the second step of the podium while #1010 Moises Cuevas finished the 1-2-3.
The current pandemic as you know continue to put all this races on the edge but proper safety measures implemented by RECORD and his leader, Ramon Castro made possible to continue putting races together specially this San Vicente 200, as Ramon told us once, “it’s my favorite race, the race that started everything for me”
Continuing with the results, in Class 16, one of the most popular categories, after battling all day long #1629 Kevin Alcala, #1611 Pablo Jauregui and #1604 Fernando Orozco were able to beat the field and rise to the top of the podium respectively.
In Class 7sx #727 Miguel Sandoval driving along his son Nahum Sandoval of TCM Motorsports finally managed to take the victory in this race after 18 years of chasing and trying however this win was possible after #740 Oscar Solaiza was penalized with two-hours for not setting the tracking device on their truck.
